Popular games and activities in Physical Education classes

This article aims to address the knowledge of Popular Games and Plays, delving deeper into different teaching and learning situations, such as: rope-twister, chase games, hopscotch, fantasy games and ball games. The game, in its condition of determining and culturally determined, carries with it fundamental importance in the human species, through the interior of the game, it becomes possible to interpret life, of the historical relations that surround humanity. In this brief theoretical tour, followed by an example of the action plan that dialogues with the perspectives presented, it is concluded that Popular Games and Plays, when provided within a critical and emancipatory perspective, are powerful tools for the Physical Education sector in the search for the construction of knowledge in its entirety.
